You are invited to join us for some fun & laughter on our weekly
Zoom laughter meeting. It is always easier and more fun to laugh
in a group and this is why Zoom Laughter works so well. A screen
full of happy smiling faces is the restorative tonic we can all
use at a time like this.

Do you like to laugh?
Did you know that laughing is good for you?
Laughter is fun and therapeutic.
Laughter Yoga is simple and profound.
An exercise routine and complete well-being workout. Developed by
a medical doctor from India Dr. Madan Kataria (1995). Laughter yoga
is not about fancy pants or poses. It is laughter for no reason
to encourage a sense of child-like play and feeling of joy. The
yoga part is all about the deep breathing. The laughing stretches
various muscles in your chest, abdomen, neck & shoulders. 10-15
minutes of sustained belly laughter can be equivalent to 30 minutes
Laughter Yoga Will:
Improve fitness with fun and easy exercise
Promote a positive mental attitude
Give more energy
Strengthen your immune system
On October 13, 2017 at the Trovador Centre in Toronto
Cathy was appointed a Laughter Ambassador by Madan & Madhuri
Kataria, the creators of Laughter Yoga. For her dedication and selfless
services to promote the causes of Laughter Yoga.
Best wishes for bringing Good Health, Joy and World
Peace through Laughter.

Ont. Woman Promotes Positive Mental Health
Through Laughter Yoga
A woman in Bradford, Ont. combines laughter and exercise
to promote positive mental health and well-being. Cathy
Nesbit of Cathy's Chuckle Club teaches laughter yoga,
offering a free, online class every Tuesday.
"I think the most important part of laughter is
the oxygen. When we're stressed, we're not breathing
properly, so our body isn't getting what it needs and
for sure our brain isn't," Nesbit said. "When
you give yourself permission to engage in this …
and break through that resistance, the magic happens." Read
Nothing creeped out Cathy Nesbitt more
But during the past 16 years, she has become
known as Bradford West Gwillimbury’s Worm Lady.
Nesbitt runs her business, Cathy’s
Crawly Composters, out of her home — promoting
vermicomposting, or composting with the use of worms,
across Canada by selling red wiggler worms, composting
containers, composter bedding, books, earrings in the
shape of worms, and other so-called “wormy accessories,”
such as compost pails.
Laughter creates connections between humans.
Learn about the tremendous health benefits from regular,
sustained belly laughter and have a few laughs along
the way. Laughter is the best medicine for good reason.
It’s in us all waiting to burst out. Life is stressful.
Our brain requires 25% more oxygen than the rest of
our body. When we’re stressed, we’re not breathing deeply.
The body is deprived of air and therefore so is the
brain. We cannot think clearly when stressed. Laughter
helps us release tension and improve relationships.
Laughter breaks down barriers.

Where Compassion Meets Community
I am writing to thank you for your Laughter
Yoga session this morning.
I did not know what to expect at all when
I signed up the Matthews House Hospice volunteers and
myself for a virtual class. I have to say, I was very
pleased and very happy with the session.
I started out making myself laugh and then
I found myself tearing from laughing so much. It just
lifted my spirits and made me feel lighter.
Thank you Cathy so much for sending a little
sunshine my way.

Cathy has been leading laughter
yoga classes regularly for our group of special needs
adults for about a year now. In that time she has developed
meaningful relationships. Our folks really look forward
to spending time with Cathy as she reaches out to include
everyone. We laugh, we learn, we excercise and remember
what it is like to laugh for no reason and just be silly.
Cathy is reliable and always has a smile
on her face. We would highly recommend her.

Laughter Yoga is like any other aerobic exercise and all the
conditions apply as with any other aerobic activity like swimming,
jogging, running etc. Listen to your body and respond accordingly.
Should you experience any pain, discomfort and breathlessness,
discontinue Laughter Yoga and seek medical advice.
Note: Laughing is thirsty business so remember
to bring your water bottle.
